About Me

About the Author of this Blog

My name is Heather.  In 2011 I hit the big "3 - 0."  I have been married to the most wonderful man I know since March 2001.  Together we have four children here on earth and one in heaven after an early miscarriage.  Our children range in age from tiny baby to teenager (I had my oldest as a teenager myself, something I am not proud of, but I am thankful for my daughter just the same).  We decided a few years ago to let God control how many children we would have.  Little did we know it would take us over a year and a half and one loss before we would conceive another child I could carry to term.

I have been a stay at home mom since I found out I was pregnant with our third child in January of 2003.  Before that, I was a preschool teacher. We have been homeschooling since our oldest child started first grade in 2004, and I wouldn't dream of having it any other way.

I am, first of all, a Christian.  Second, a wife.  Third, a mother.  I am a homemaker, a keeper of my home, teacher of my children.  I am a cook, a baker, a reader, a writer, a quilter, a dreamer.

I am a work in progress.  I like to keep things real.  I try my hardest but sometimes I fall woefully short of the mark, but you know what?  God loves me, anyway, and He picks me up and sets me on my way again.

This blog is a collection of stories about my life as a wife and mother, thoughts I have about the life I live, encouragement for others seeking to live that same way, and from time to time, an outlet for me to cry out.

I hope you enjoy it, and that something you find here will bless you.
